Treating hemorrhoids

Today I was going through the newspaper and I was astonished to know that hemorrhoids are most prevalent in developed countries. You must be knowing about hemorrhoids, if not, let me give you a overview.

Hemorrhoids are veins in anal area both inside and outside the anus. Due to some complication this veins swollen up to form hemorrhoids causing pain, itching, and bleeding in the anal area.

There are three types of Hemorrhoids:-

  • External Hemorrhoids :- External hemorrhoids are swollen veins outside the anal area. They are painful and can be observed outside the lower rectum area.
  • Internal Hemorrhoids :- When internal veins swollen up internally, they form internal hemorrhoids. They are not visible outside the anus and cause extreme pain. Mostly people are not aware of internal hemorrhoids until they become irritable.
  • Bleeding Hemorrhoids :- Bleeding from internal and external hemorrhoids causes bleeding hemorrhoids. Bleeding from rectal area has many causes and its always a better idea to consult a doctor.
Causes Of Hemorrhoids :-
  • A common cause for hemorrhoids is pressure on the rectal area. During standing position blood above the rectum area exerts pressure on the rectal area.
  • Sitting for too long is another cause for hemorrhoids. Doctor's advice not to sit for too long and you must take break from your work after every one hour.
  • Consuming lots of processed food is another cause of hemorrhoids and mostly common in developed countries. In developed countries people generally consume processed food. Where as fibrous food is necessary to avoid hemorrhoids.
  • Poor bowel movements can be lead to hemorrhoids. You should not wait, when there is a nature's call.
  • Pregnancy, obesity, constipation are the other causes of hemorrhoids.
Home Treatment Of Hemorrhoids :-
  • Hot Hip Bath :- Soak hip in saline warm water for at least three times a day after every bowel movement. Keep your anal area clean and fry to avoid infection.
  • Fibrous Diet :- Include fibrous food in your daily diet. Take rice, cereals, fruits and leafy vegetables in good amount.
  • Sitting Posture :- Do not sit for too long and use cushion to lessen pain.
  • Stool Softening :- Consult your doctor and ask for medicines to softening stool.
Hemorrhoids is a common problem and proper medication can lead to its cure. I would suggest you to meet a doctor as soon as you have some problems in the anal area.
